As a local independent, DIY filmmaker, I began my filmmaking endeavors at the New York Film Academy held at the prestigious La Femis film school in Paris, France. Upon completion of the program, I continued to pursue the art on my own, from writing, directing, editing short films, to networking with local filmmakers and crewing for larger productions. A firm believer in formal education, I dedicated myself to pursuing local outlets for film education from an exceptional screen writing course with Yale professor Marc Lapadula to acting workshops with Ann Timmons, and hands on training with Arlington Independent media. These skill sets, complementing my own study and production of short/student films, have further developed my knowledge and craft of filmmaking. At an early age, I began writing and developing philosophical ideas on this thing we call life, what is life, what is happiness, what is love etc..? My first passion is in philosophy, in understanding life, human nature, and human beings. My second passion is in film. Until I discovered the power and beauty of film, I was unsure how to express these ideas to the public. Now, with the creativity to control moving images, sounds, life-like characters, worlds and stories to put them in, I have found the perfect medium to convey philosophical thought. A great film is rooted in the heart of a great story—a story that connects its audience to its character, that allows them to relate and feel for the heroes. A philosophical film can be no exception. Thus, the creation of ReelLight Films production began, seeking to create entertaining and inspiring films with character and a strong story rooted in deep subtext of philosophical ideas.
